Stepper motors specs

    Hi,

    Could anyone tell me the specs of the steppers motors: voltage, torque, model number, etc???

    I am planning to "clone" my Robo3D :)

    what torque???
    there are a lot of different Nema 15 around
    I just want make sure I am buying the right ones.

    12V is the power supply, the stepper has for sure another nominal voltage.

    nema 15 is also wrong.

    the easiest way to find out what motors and so on is to google it: robo 3d motors
    then you find: oh wow on theyr seller page they describe the product:

    long story short: Nema 17 motors with 48 oz/in holding torque

    but any motor with the same numbers of steps and torque at least that high will work

    you are right, they do, in the pledge area. I would never find there, thank you.
    the only thing missing is confirm the voltage, if it is really a 12 volts motor (or some other voltage).

    anyway, thank you again :)

    hmm you don't know much about steppers right?

    they don't have "the voltage" like most other motors.
    they have a nominal voltage and more important a nominal current (the current is the limit, cause this causes heating)
    so if the motor is running it needs more voltage (due a blind resistance) to get the voltage.

    so you give it always 12 volts (also the mmotors says 5.5V oder 4.3 oder 6.1) and you limit the current. sometimes you nee the 12 volts (otherwise you won't have any power at higher speeds)

    Polylac: as far I have been researching step motors do have voltages:

    And that's why I was asking.

    Cambo, doing some research on the info you sent me I found this site:

    according to the site the step motor is a:

    4.25V
    1.7A
    21-90 oz-in / 1.5-6.5 kg-cm
    Hybrid

    Now I have some more info to continue my project.

    true, thats the nominal voltage, for the 1.7 A at a given speed.
    but you don't use a 4.25V supply. You can use a 6V oder 12V oder 24V you just need the right controller.
    And it depends on the speed what Voltage really is required...
    that's why i said this doesn't relly matters...

    but this 4.25V is only for a given speed, increase the speed and you need a higher Voltage.

    So as long as your supply voltage is high enough the given Voltage is not really important.
    Of course you can't use a stepper motor with a nominal voltage of 12V on a 12V supply.
    But a 4.25V motor, can be used with 6, 12 oder 24V, you only need the right motor driver...

    It does make a lot of sense now.

    I didn't know that, andnow I do . :)
    I will be cloning my printer with a nema 17 5.6V .85A
