I bumped my printing temp up to 240 to see if that helps.

    It grinds it in half.

As in, its coming out thinner than normal? What settings/slicing software are you using? Also try to upload a pic if you can.

No, the hobbed bolt grinds the filament in half.

Ahh, I thought my issue was the bolt as well but ended up being that I had a small piece of filament inbetween the nozzle and the heat break that was causing some blockage. You might want to take a look at that.

If the bolt is grinding the filament, you may have a clogged extruder.

Have you tried heating the extruder and manually pushing some filament through?
If you can push and it extrudes easily then maybe your hobbed bolt is the problem. If it doesn't, then it's a clogged or cracked extruder.

Yeah I can push it through just fine it will print perfectly for like 30-60 min then it starts messing up. I'm printing using robo's repetier settings for low quality but at full infill and slowing it down on my LCD to 50%

Possibly the hobbed bolt then. My bolt had no indent in the hobb, it was straight. If I had any binding on the filament coming off the spool then my bolt would chew right through it. I eventually ordered one off of ebay that had a nice indent and it's working much better.

So far printing at 240c is working good. Will still be picking up a new hobbed bolt.

    Do you mean 240?
Edit: nevermind, I see you changed it already. Glad its working better. I picked up an upgraded hobbed bolt of ebay for less than 5 bucks, great easy and cheap upgrade.

Not worn out, it was found the the shipped Robo3D hobbed bolt had a straight hobb and not a recessed one. It therefore tended to sometimes chew through the filament.
Replacing it with a bolt that has a recessed hobb seems to have fixed that issue.
It also happens to be very cheap and simple to replace making it a popular modification.

well, i was having the same issues you were chas, turns out i over tightened the heat break so it bent abit causing the first few cm to extrude fine but since the plastic has to cure it gets stiffer until it stops.

if you are still having the problem try take out the filament, heat up the extruder and by hand push the filament through, if it starts to get stiffer and stiffer than you may have the same issue as i did (bent heat break)
