Stuck on "attempting to connect" MC, but connects fine on Repetier

Just got my Robo today and right from the get go I'm having problems connecting to my Macbook Pro running Mavericks. It keeps getting stuck on "attempting to connect" when setting up the printer, or will say its connected and get stuck on "Detecting device firmware..." in the Advanced Controls panel. It did manage to successfully connect and print for about an hour using MC, then MC crashed and now i still cannot connect again. However, connecting using Repetier works fine.

Anyone know how to fix this? Or should I just stick with Repetier, my only concern is if there is specific configuration in Repetier for the Robo.

 

What does your arduino show up as in device manager?

 

I believe it said Arduino Mega 2650, but I hooked it up to my Windows 8 PC and its working fine up until now. The Z axis endstops are not working now so i will make another post about that.

 

My new Robo3D R1 is not connecting on a 2013 iMac running Mavericks 10.9.5. It hangs on "Connecting..." when I add the printer. It works fine on an old iMac running 10.7.5 and on a windows laptop. I am using downloaded MatterControl 1.1.3.
Is there a simple solution? Is there a version that works on mavericks?

 

i wound up just buying a little $200 HP desktop
