    running a R1 and simplify 3D
Just installed a thermocoupler that is rated to 300C and I'm trying to print at 205. it will start the print and slowly bleed off the temp. after 6 or 7 layers, I get this:
RECEIVED: Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)

I tried it again with the fan off thinking it was cooling too much. no dice. any suggestions?

There is an actual error reported before the message you posted.
Look further back in the GCode console to find it. That will tell us what it is complaining about.

Ok. I'll look when I get home. Would the issue come from just plugging the coupler into the same line the thermistor was using? Do I need to run a new line to the board by chance?

You can use the same wires, but...

You can't directly swap a thermocouple for a thermistor.
E3D has the Pt100* which includes the adapter board or I used a RepRap thermocouple adapter (http://reprap.org/wiki/ExtThermoCouple_1.0)

Thermocouples are different electrically than a thermistor.

*sensor and adapter in the package with the PT100

Ok. That is the issue then. I got a cheap 3mm coupler from eBay. Guess I have some figuring to do. Thanks for the help
