what you think about printing on fabric?

So I'm block printing a bunch of scarves for Christmas gifts. I discovered that the material on which I was printing had a significant impact on the quality of my print. What is the foundation you're using to support your fabric? I used a piece of rubber floor foam (imagine a kid's room) to make full prints with no striations!
Is it possible that you have cardboard behind your fabric? That's what the pattern tells me about 3d hoodies fashion.
Alternatively, if you're laying the fabric on the design, use something with give, as I suggested, and flip it over and press down. Because your print is larger than mine, I'm not sure how the pressure will work, but perhaps place a book over it and press down?
