Partial Answer X Axis stepper stuttering when moved by hand.

    I noticed my x axis was skipping during a print. I powered off the printer and tried moving the x axis by hand. It is very hard to move. I unplugged the motor from the board and tried it again, and still very hard to move. Does this mean my motor needs replaced?

    More likely the linear bearings are going or are in desperate need of lubrication.
    You can try some white lithium grease on the rails (slide the carriage back and forth well to get the bearings coated). If that does not help it is probably one or more bearings going bad.
