Z axis wont home properly

Everything was working properly until today. The Z axis wont home properly. When I hit the Z to home it rises up and doesn't home down. Also when I start a print it rises up but wont go down to the bed. If I hit the plus and minus in the control it functions up and down so i know it works. Any suggestions.

Can I get some more information? When did you receive your printer? Does it have the auto-leveling? Did you update your firmware?

 

I received the printer on Monday. Yes they gave me the free upgrade, and no I haven't upgraded the firmware.

 

Just noticed that the switch is at fault, liked you said. Some how the wire broke off at the soldering point. I just soldered it back and everything is back to normal.
