Just curious why this seems to happen sporadically. I've adjusted my flow, Z height, speed ECT and I still get waves/wrinkles. I've read a few threads adjustinh the z axis but I'm at a loss now. Using ABS .3 first layer .2 rest, heat bed 85 filiment 245. See pic for wrinkles.

If it wasn't ABS I'd say (for example, if it were PLA) too hot and a touch of over extrusion.

But ... with ABS it could just be it warping. I'd still suggest calibrate extruder and test a lower temp :)

Assuming ABS being ABS is the culprit. Then minimize air flow around the printer and maybe consider aiming a heat lamp over there. An enclosure us the best answer

Lower temp huh? Would not have thought that would be the culprit. I'll try some lower temps and report back. Thank you kindly for the Saturday night response ;)

PS my z height seems to be best at 0.1 if that sounds right.

Yes. Z height controls detail. So that sound right. Cooler may not help. It is a tricky balance with ABS getting enough heat into the model for it to print and then getting the heat out slow enough that it does not warp or buckle

This is why most have moved on to coploymers ... they are superior to ABS in every property and have almost none of the complications for printing

So what material would you all recommend for an electronics/mini pc enclosure?

You know your requirements best, but start here:

Whatever reasons you chose ABS for, there are better alternatives there and that is scratching the surface. Other vendors have even more.

Look where ABS is on the graph.

ABS and polycarbonate are the two most problematic materials for most printers.
ABS because it needs strict extrusion and environment control and PC because it needs heat -- a lot :)

Copolymers as @mark tomlinson suggests are all you PET filaments like PET-G (the most common) and PET-T.

Nylon is a very nice option as well and while a bit trickier than PLA it is not difficult to get tweaked in well.
