I have started using blue painters tape to prevent my bed from chipping I have gone through two glass beds.
I Have printed PETG on the tape but my PLA prints are harder to get off the bed and always has tape fused to it.
Do you have any tips to prevent this or do I just print PLA without it.

PLA tends to pop off the glass very easily by just cooling the bed. I would strip off the tape when printing with PLA.
    Personal opinion only.

I've heard of some guys adding a pei plate or build tac that works well with petg, PLA, and so on. Just need to work out where you do ABL without the nozzle hot if you are still using the nozzle as a probe. Or move to mesh leveling. Then you just need to worry about when you home the z.

I am trying with a raft I figured the raft will stick to the type and the part will come off the raft.
I might get a PEI sheet.

Rafts can leave ugly artifacts where they are in contact with the model.
    You may not care.

I use a skirt @ 0 distance (so it touches) rather than a raft. I just increase the size (diameter) as needed. Peals right off at 1 or 2 layers.

I do care but I don't want to buy another heated bed because of chipping. I saw a article about using parchment paper between the tape and bed.

Many filaments are fine on a room temperature bed.
Some are 'OK' but work better with heated bed and a very few really do need it.

I understand that my problem is Borosilicate bed keeps chipping from the plastic cooling on it.

From pla ???? Petg absolutely but I haven't heard much about pla doing it.

You could get some sheets of glass from lowes, ace hardware, me arms etc and clip it on top of your glass bed to protect your glass :) if that chips it's cheap. I've use a glass cutter and a big broken mirror on the curb. The mirror looks nice :). Can see the nozzle lol

Or... You could go aluminum for the build plate.
