After installing my E3d v6, whenever I try to connect (repetier-host), The computer thinks its connected (It shows the green "disconnect" button at the top) but It shows no temperature values, or gives me any control. This was never a problem before installing my e3d. I flashed the firmware, made sure no wires are loose, yet, I still have this problem. It will connect maybe 1/100 times. I have tried connecting multiple computers, with no solution. Im really not sure what could be going on here. I have unplugged, restarted, and rechecked everything a countless number of times, but I cant get it to work. Please help, this is extremely frustrating.

what printer do you have? What firmware did you flash? Does it show up in the command manager? Do you use a Mac?

have a robo 3I3d ABS + PLA, not the r1. It does not show up in the command manager. I also do not use a mac. Just wondering, if you were unplug the thermistor and hot end, would this happen? I can only think this is related to the e3d.

Yes try disconnecting your e3d and get it working before your mod. Then troubleshoot to understand what you did to it.

In addition to disconnecting the E3D, disconnect the thermistor as well so essentially nothing from the hotend is connected to the RAMPS. If you completely remove the RAMPS as Mike has suggested then that will not be an issue (until you reconnect the RAMPS--so make sure you double check all you connections on it).

So, I went ahead and checked the connections on the hotend because I believed that this was the problem. Now, when I try to connect every once in a while, this is what I get:

Mintemp means you have an open circuit in your thermistor line.

Either the thermistor is broken or a wire, or you landed it on the wrong terminals on the RAMPS board.

Whenever I get this issue I UNPLUG AND REPLUG THE USB CABLE and try again. works every time. This is on a MAC, not sure if the same will fix on a PC.

Change/reduce the baud rate parameter in the Marlin configuration.h file from 250000 to 115200 baud. This might solve the communication errors as it worked for me.

If that's the solution please post on matterhackers forum to be aware of the issue with using 250000 baud rate: www.matterhackers.com/community/forum
