Okay, here's what's up. My 3DR1 has been printing flawlessly up until a few days ago. I'm now getting these annoying fine threads of filament that weren't there before. I did recently change my PLA filament from one brand to another.

Could this be the culprit or what else would cause this all of the sudden?

    Pictures please.
    Not sure what you mean.

Stringing (hair like strands of filament that end up around the model as it prints) can be caused by bad filament or filament run too hot. Something else???? No clue without something to look at.

I think it's bad filament because I've always used Hatchbox brand with zero problems. I ran out and switched to 3D Solutions which has me thinking it's garbage filament.

Possible. Also possible that the other filament has a slightly different best temperature range.
Not ruling out bum filament... it happens.

He probably means stringing. Each and every filament has slightly different properties. If you need a flawless print try some deprime objects and dial in the various settings: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:66175

Thanks for the link. I will try that and see what happens.

I have (too many) of those silly little things hanging around from tuning in the spools.
They work great and print quick.
