My MatterControl 1.2.1 doesn't have the option for Auto Level anymore. Any ideas why?

It's antiquated and no longer used. The G29 in the startup g-code is more than adequate.

Then my G29 must be screwy. It just updated the firmware to my Robo 3D and now when it goes to auto level instead of the head of the printer going down to the bed it keeps going up. Then it tries to print from 5 inches away from the heated bed.

Send M119 in terminal, ensuring both switches are activated against the carriage. You might have installed the wrong firmware

What really interesting is I notice that the two rods that the printer head rides on were not level from side to side. Everytime it prints(or tries to print) the bars are even more out of level than before. Like one motor is slower than the other.

Check the helical couplers (aluminum spring looking things).

If you grip the helical coupler and the threaded rod and try to spin them against each other and they move, that's bad and needs to be tightened.

It was loose as can be. Whoever thought of using teflon tape is not using their head. It is tight now. Are both Z-axis screws operating off of one motor?

So the two can turn independent of each other?

that happens if you're too low. Or it could be from needing an oiler

I'd guess it's more likely you're too low judging by the post.

How could it be too low if it has the 9 point auto level? I took some vegetable oil and wiped the PLA down to see if it prints.

The auto level gets you set assuming your offset is correct.
