I was changing the filament on my R1+ and when I tried to extrude the filament via matter control I ended up getting a stuttering "machine gun fire" sound coming from the extruder stepper motor. I am able to manually extrude the filament and the extruder motor seems to work fine when there is no filament in the extruder. I have already tried switching the wires with the "Y" motor and I get the same "machine gun" noise from the "Y" motor this time but the extruder motor worked fine. I have read on the forums about adjusting the speed control, I have not tried that yet. I wanted to check to see if that should be my next step, because of the fact that the motor moves fine when there is no filament inserted.

Of course under warranty contact Robo for a replacement -- they will likely just replace the entire RAMPS (which is not really needed).

I will be ordering the kit. Until then I am going to try to "tune" the card to keep me going til then. Do you know where I can find a diagram to make sure I am working on the correct board?

I just got my RAMPS kit
OSOYOO 3D Printer Kit with RAMPS 1.4 Controller + Mega 2560 board + 5pcs A4988 Stepper Motor Driver with Heatsink + LCD 12864 Graphic Smart Display Controller with Adapter For Arduino RepRap.

Is there a video or PDF on installing this?

Watch this. Covers it pretty well. Not that specific kit, but the electronics.

Thats helps tremendously. One other question, what about the firmware? I have a ROBO 3D R1+

If all you replace is the RAMPS there is no need to mess with the firmware.
