The bed on my r1+ has not been heating for some time, and the support team sent me a link to get it RMAed some time ago.

That said, I got busy with life, and kept putting it off and then simply forgot about it.

Either way, I decided to jump back in and see if I could get the issue figured out.

    1. Removed the bottom and tightened the connectors to the bed.
    2. Removed the bed entirely. Examined. No sign of damage.
    3. Checked firmware. All good.
    4. Removed connectors from board. Apparent damage to connectors.

My question: Looking at the picture, is this what is causing my issue? Thinking that it is, is there a simple way to fix? I have some soldering exp, and I'd rather not have to pay God knows what just to get Robo to look at it.

Also, does anyone know what caused this? If it is my fault somehow, I'd like to prevent it in the future.

    Thanks in advance!

FYI: Q3 is the culprit on the RAMPS. The heated bed is likely pulling a bit much current (11 amp max).
The RAMPS should limit it there, but in some cases (many really) Q3 will eventually die.

There are a lot of earlier threads on this if you care to search the forum and read them.

I tried to search, but apparently what I was searching for was not the right thing.

If you don't mind, how is Q3 the culprit if the pin is in D8 (I am not the most literate when it comes to this).

Also, Robo support said that I could program it to another pin. Am I better off just getting the new board, or should I try that first?

Thanks for your time! I think I'll try the generic board and go from there.

Good luck Q3 is the MOSFET on the standard RAMPS that is used to power the heated bed.

That or it is the fact that anything posted prior to the last forum upgrade that @Harry did is never returned in the forum's built in searches anymore. So I have fallen back to using google and you search for your terms like normal but add the string "site:community.robo3d.com" after the search team without the double quotes. Much more reliable to get the hits you need to find your answers. I wish @Harry would just put that little tip on the search results page. I think if I tag @Harry one more time he might actually appear and read this. Hahaha!

Is that the third time you mentioned him in this thread?
    Just ... sayin :)

(nope -- three times in ONE POST) that should work.
