    I have been having lots of trouble with my ramps 1.4 and mega. Can I replace the controller board with an mks base 1.4 I have had enough problems with this.

    you can use any controller you want that can handle the motors and heaters :)
    You will need find and configure firmware for it...

    I do not know anyone who has done this, but someone can chime in if they read this :)

    The majority of problems people have with the RAMPS and Arduino usually involve bad parts because they are cheap parts (and cheaply made). Good luck.
