Looks like a loose belt. You are getting slippage in one axis (left-to-right in that picture, which ever axis that is on your printer).

So tighten the belt on the printer?

Yes, whichever one that corresponds to. I have no point of reference from the photo to say which (X or Y) axis is slipping, but one is. You should do the following for all of them (but specifically the one slipping):

    1) tighten the belt
    2) check all set screws on pulleys used by the belt and on the motor shafts tight

I would suggest using loctite on the set screws once you tighten them.

Can this happen if the pulleys are too tight?

If the belt is too tight, yes you can get a jump as well, but that is pretty sloppy. I'd be more likely to suspect a loose drive rather than a tight one.

Slow it way down and see if it improves. If a loose belt is the issue, slowing it down (a lot) will make it jump less.

Too tight can cause binding which makes steps get skipped.

Thanks; it got better here is the pic. What I did:

Tighten the belt both x and y
Found the steeper y was loose so I tighten that in place.
    Retightened everything
    And

Does your printer have a bottom cover?

Right I'm just trying to see if you have 5/16" rods or M8 rods. If you have a bottom cover you have M8, otherwise you have 5/16

Do your smooth rods run to the top of the printer case?
