    got my printer Monday. 9/15/14.
    the PLA it shipped with.
    purple glue stick.
scrape the bed and clean some with alcohol.

I have the XXL display so I thought I would start with printing the case for it.
bottom got halfway through before it got flaky. but it finished ok.
the top was a bad level . went flaky, next thing I know the print head is an inch above the model and filament is stripped out.

I had been reading and did a couple things.
    1. threaded a straw on the filament to keep it guided into the extruder.
    2. traded the tiny cooling fan pointed at the arduino board for a bigger one.
    3. did a better job at the leveling instructions.

next is fixing the slot in the top. it's a very rough cut and the filament likes to bind and skip on it.

it's tempting to grab everything off the bed when it's done, letting it sit and cool seems to pop off easier. I winced at the videos I have seen where someone starts pounding the glass bed to pop off prints.

looking decent! We got our printers on the same day but yours seems to be doing a bit better!

Did you get through the calibration process in MatterControl with no hiccups? (I'm trying to diagnose some issues)

I read or anticipated the instructions wrong the first go and messed it up. (the instructions say up, up, then down, I think I went up) before I leveled the next day I put a small torpedo level on the bed. and eye leveled the cross rod to the bed. I know level is relative and this shouldn't matter, but it made me feel better. shooting for the least amount of rod twist on side to side travel. (should make printing faster?).
