Not that I know of, the one I got did have a fan mod on the ramps board, I added a XXL LED controller from http://www.printedsolid.com/ I watched Jerry's (aka barnacules nerdgasm) video here on installing it (its easy). Also read the description of the video, it'll save ya some money!

Also the supports for the Z axis vert bars are printable as well.

Barnacules is the whole reason why I've ordered my printer. His videos are very helpful and I think this video will help too.

Same here.. I ran across his videos when searching for which printer to start out with. Turns out we have allot of things in common, I guess that's normal for geeky / nerdy guys lol. I went through his older videos and saw he test drove a Chevy volt, I have one in my carport :) I never get rid of old computer parts, etc.. He is a little more extreme then I am though.

    Cheers!

Well just to do as everyone else has (helped me know where they appear to be in the order sequence), I rec'vd
an email indicating that my Printer has shipped (#2110) which is the ABS+PLA with 2 spools 1 PLA 1 ABS.

Hopefully that helps give others hope that their order is close to getting shipped.

Now all I can do is pray that it's DHL journey is a safe one (Transit to Canada for items like this is always risky).

This thread kept me sane. Oh BTW - This would seem that they are exactly estimating the correct lead time, maybe a day or 2 earlier than they quoted me before ordering 5 - 6 weeks.

Chris in Newark - I would guess you have another week and I'd check with them, I would bet he'll say it's a few days from shipping.

As for Order #2110, it has arrived (extremely fast shipping)... waiting on my LCD controller in the mail and will be ordering the E3D v5 Hotend in next few days as a replacement for the current one (after printing vertical and adjusted fan bracket). By the way packing was A1 on this unit... and that was to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

With the exception of being raped at the border ($130) like all good Canadians are expected to be... great experience.

Can you do me a favour and message me with the link to fan bracket etc? I have the E3D Hotend sat here already waiting for the printer.

My reference links for pieces is below. The Z-Axis stabilizer is one of the important pieces you can print, that and a little two-sided 3M tape and the whole assembly is now very firm, though it does mean you have to keep the plastic on. Do check to make sure that your smooth-rod bottom supports are good, one of mine was cracked when I took it out of the box. No big deal, just print another one and clean up the holes with a drill (Preferably a drill press).

The Top Extruder Wire Holder (there are two, bold one is significantly better), not a necessity, but nice to have. First it lowers the footprint of the printer, but it also reduces (an already low chance) of the filament catching on the edge. Plus, it is a slick way of doing things.

Last link is the FAQ. Read that.

I sent them a message asking where mine was upto and they replied the same day and said it was shipping out in the next few days. Get in touch with customer support and ask where you are in the queue, you should have already gone out. I'm order #2100, ordered on 18th of Feb, PLA+ABS Model.

    Order 1883...ordered Jan 4th....unfulfilled atm PLA/ABS
Left a message early afternoon their time yesterday.... have not heard back yet

    order #1958 had a PLA/ABS delivered yesterday....explanation needed

Are there issues? Information Like that needs to be pushed out to paying customers rather than pulled.
I don't like seeing pages of "fixes" for brand new equipment.
    Not at all impressed.

Clearly there are issues with order fulfillment in proper order. There maybe many reasons for this, but who knows why. If I had to guess its that the warehouse has the items on pallets as they came in and they mark each one for each order, then QA it and if there is a problem, then they address it. I'm guessing here but that would explain allot.

Remember also this is a few guys who were able to offer something to the public with a decent quality less expensively then most others out there.

As for the "fixes" the printer worked right out of the box as advertised, barring any damage in shipping you should have no problem getting up and running fairly fast. Be sure to go over the print a few times to make sure you removed all the packing material.. etc.

That being said, this is not like a printer you buy at your local electronics store / walmart. You will need to tweak settings when you change material you may need to re-tweak. Each print maybe different. I am pleasantly surprised that I was able to run 3 prints in a row without failure on Tuesday, after only having it since Sunday :D

    Thanks Greg,
I have this image of angry Jerry Seinfeld waving his arms around "you can take an order, just not ship the order"
But Jerry from RoBo3D has said the unit should ship today so we should be good as soon as I get a tracking number.

I do need to temper my expectations of the printer a bit. I work with a Dimension SST 1200ES at the day job, so it will take some getting used to.

Hey guys, just wanted to throw out an update based on some of the information and questions I'm seeing.

I, too, was wondering about the LEDs and the new axis so I contacted Jerry @ Robo to check on it.

The LEDs are not part of the implementation plan. They are just an aesthetic feature they added for effect in the video. (Just to note, the video actually only states its for the new axis.)

As for the time frame for the new axis going in to the production line? It sounds like they are working to get these added for future orders. Possibly for orders placed around the beginning of May or after as they are waiting for the parts to start rolling in. Having already placed my order I'll likely get the old axis and, personally, this is fine.

Companies do product line upgrades like this all the time. (Just look at the Nexus 7 tablet as an example or any other number of products.) It looks like the new axis will be available as a purchasable upgrade, but this could change (who knows maybe they'll make free some day, though for their bottom line I hope not).

Can it be mildly annoying to have a product change so shortly after ordering it? Sure. But you're still getting a good product and remember, they assign a specific unit to you at the time your order is received and begin testing. IF they were to go through and try to upgrade every unit that has already been ordered not only would you be waiting an additional month just for the parts to be in, but also the additional time for them to install them in your unit and begin the testing process all over.

Personally, I'm content getting a good functional product. If a dire need arises, I can always upgrade later.
