    Hi, Just a little question:

Would it be feasable to have a dual extrusion with one nozzle.
With a boden setup and a Y section linking two extruder to one nozzle (that part is easy)
And on the software part is it possible to switch between two temperatures that have been preset by the slicer ?(temp extruder 1 and 0)?

yeah kinda like that. My main question if it can be done with an everyday all metal hot end (like the hexagon or the e3d)

Yes? But those retractions would be insane

doesn't have to be if the Y is right at the outside it's just 20 mm maybe less. And speed (in the print time meaning) isn't really of my concern. I do a lot of random stuff and some of those have pretty steep overhang for a 0.05mm high print. I'm just looking for a "cheap" and fast way to go dual extrusion

I think you're oversimplifying the issue and not really understanding what complexity is involved in your idea

I think i do (at least it's clear in my head) I might give it a try some day. My main concern was the software part of such a mod not the hardware Thanks for the answer tho :D

The software is easy, just set it up like a cyclops.

Machining a Y like that in a heatsink is not

Right I figured that's what you meant. Though I don't really understand what you're saying like 20mm because you'd still need the heatsink and then the Y

That's also assuming you can retract the entire filament (plus the little stem part that pulls out sometimes)
