How can I do a filament change in the middle of a print using octoprint or Matter control. Im looking for a easy way of doing it. Maybe when I pause on octoprint the extruder moves up and then when un pause goes back same spot. please help thanks for your time.

I am not familiar with MatterControl nor have I ever done anything multi-filament, so I am the wrong person to ask.

Yes, I use it with a R1+ and Simplify 3D. I do not use Mattercontrol, but give it a shot and let us know what you find.

you upload your gcode, tell it what height, it spits out a download of your gcode with the layer change in it at the height you set. The machine with go through the change filament routing automatically. You need to be there when this happens to reload the new filament and kick off the print. I did this with a LCD controller and SD card printing on my R1+ and many other machines.
