    Hi all
I'm new to 3D printing and having trouble with getting anything to print. Just bought some ABS and PLA to try. Using 250c I can extrude 100mm and it comes out alright but when I choose to print nothing comes out and the filament gets chewed. The hotend seems to be touching the glass tray when printing. Could that be an issue?
    Any ideas?
    Please help.
    I'm using a Robo 3d R1
    Thanks
    George

Yes. the filament has to be able to flow.
Make sure your Z offset is configured correctly for whatever slicer you are using (I'll go out on a limb and assume MatterControl).
If your Z offset is getting set and used by the slicer then increase it in small increments (0.01mm) while watching the skirt on a test print until the skirt is printing correctly. If not you can immediately abort the print, alter it and try again.

You want it to look like this:

I can't tell you specifically how to do this in MatterControl. I long ago gave that up.

    Thanks for that.
