I have two Robo R1 plus printers and they are both doing the same thing. Recently (in the past month or two), my prints have been raising off the bed in one corner of the print. As they both have been extruding about half the filament they used to, I thought the extruder just needed cleaning (one is an original R1 Plus and the other about 8 months newer). I do season the extruders by dipping about an 1" of filament in canola oil Everytime I change filament. I was told PLA doesn't require a heated bed, but I run the temp. about 60 degrees anyway. I have tried a lower temp. and a higher temp. but it's not better or worse. I use matterhacker slicer and it's been fine, tried cura and still peels up at the end. I use hairspray for the bed and works great until recently. Any idea why just one of the corners raise? Other than that no problems.

You might want to use less heat.
Contrary to the "more is better" approach with many things, more heat is not always your friend.

Printing at 215 extruder, and 50 bed temp. same results, still starting to raise on 1 corner.

I have heard multiple different things when it comes to leveling my bed and the z axis. I was doing the paper and manual bed level, but was told not needed with the Robo, z axis is at .5 Robo told me leave it at the default (which is like 1.9 or something). I try different measures but the prints get messed up. The best advice i have gotten here, so that's why I returned. In your opinion using the Robo R1 plus, what are the best settings for a good print. Keep in mind I'm not a huge techy and can't do any custom gcoding or anything.

Matter control is like greek to me anymorr so i can offer any help with how to set it up. Somewhere should be z offset. You set that until that first layer gets a good squish like @mark tomlinson has posted in his link

I have the z offset setting, it is at .5, is this still to far away from the bed? Also do I still need to do the paper/manual leveling of the bed on the Robo R1 plus?

That number is specific to each and every Robo. One of mine is lime 0.6 ad the other 0.9

Yours is what it is. You need to adjust it until your first layer is correct. It should look like the link I posted.
If adjusting it is not making a change then something else is wrong.

You know you have it at the correct value when the first layer is going down correctly.

I have the Robo R1 Plus too.
I had some issues with first layers when I started.
I'm no expert but I no longer have 1st layer issues. I know you've been given lots of info but hang in there, not all machines are the same, there is a setting for you and you will find it.

When I first set it at .5 the first layers were great, very smooth, could barely feel the ridges with my finger. It has gotten worse as I print, does the z offset need to be adjusted on a regular basis?

Not unless your changing nozzles or something like that. My guess is a loose ends top on your leadscrews

I made sure the z-offset was at.5, it changed to .9, how I have no idea. I also manually re leveled using paper and twisting the end screws by hand. The prints seem to be better, as for the adhesionnissue we will see.[IMG]
