I've had my printer for a few months now, and it's been working great. However last night the bed randomly stopped heating, no error message. After turning everything off and on again I noticed that when I set the bed to heat up, the desired temperature is shown, along with the bed temperature (room temp), and strangely my e3d fan turns off. I attached the fan to the power connections on the board? The power supplies light stays lit, and my lcd back light stays lit.

I reinstalled the firmware but no use. Can't find any loose connections anywhere. Any help would be appreciated

I'll have to get back to you tomorrow. I have a multi meter so no worries there. What should it read?

Before telling the bed to heat up its 0v. After I tell it to heat up it goes to a steady 0.004v

Only your heat bed doesn't work and everything else does?

Make sure your 12v wires coming into the ramps are properly secured. Otherwise you may have fried the board.

Yeah everything else is fine as far as I can tell. I never ran the bed above 70c, how could I have killed it?

Still can't find anything wrong with the connections, I'll have to send tech support a message i suppose :-(

follow the 12v trail. Start by probing the screw posts on the input to verify you get 12v there. Then enable to Bed and see the light come on. Verify if it's getting 12v.

It's pretty easy to short it by accident. I did, it burnt a trace and blew my mosfet. Had to replace it.

If you do the above probing and can't get a connection you should pull the ramps board apart from the arduino and see if there's any damage.

I figured it out. This is pretty bad though. It looks like they didn't even use crips, the connection is bearly hanging on, it's a wonder it lasted so long! Is this covered on the warranty if it caused damage to the board?

It certainly should be, you did not cause it.

OK, thanks a lot for the help guys. I think I'll pass this on to tech support. I'll update when I've fixed it and heard back

The tech support is terrible. Only reply i've had was on Thursday from 'Jerry' asking if i've received a previous message. I don't want to fix it without the manufacturers permission as i don't want to void the warranty. Has anyone got a phone number for robo ltd? As emailing is getting me no-where slowly.
