    Hey everyone,

I was using my R1 and the bed would not heat up. I cut off the machine and let it sit for about 10 min and cut it back on and it worked fine. It started to print and the blue lights flickered then a puff of smoke emitted from somewhere and it stopped printing. The computer still recognizes the printer and the extruder will heat up but the bed will not heat up. Any ideas on what happened and how to fix it?

    Thanks!

Sounds like a short happened and a component on the ramps board got blown.

If you remove the bottom cover you'll see the ramps 1.4 board and arduino. Look for any burnt marks.

Set up a 1 on 1 with them since you'll probably need replacement parts

Thanks, Mike. I took the bottom cover off but I do not see any burnt marks. I have set up a 1 on 1 app with Robo3D for tomorrow. Hopefully they can help sort everything out. I appreciate your response.

If memory serves Q3 is the one that drives the bed heater. Look around and at that one. The one-on-one is your best call.
