    Hi,

I've been having a few issues with top of domes.

It looks like the very top layers are not solid and leave holes.

I've tried increasing the number of 'top' layers, but so far has seemed unsuccessful.

Could the issue be the layers being to quick and the material not cooling enough before the next layer starts?

I've attached some images to show the issue.

I've tried a small test - settings in Simply 3d was reduce to 10% speed with 30 second minimum layer time and upped the perimeter shells to 4 - still no luck. Fan speed on 100%.

I wonder if it needs some internal supports...

So I duplicated the print and set them apart on the print bed - to give the layers as much time as I could to cool down. Its improved the print, but im still not happy.

It seems like extra cooling time is helping.

Yes, I wish they made that easier to set.
Keep increasing the minimum layer print time (i.e. make it wait longer between or take longer to do small layers)

You can also check to make sure you are not printing hotter than you need.
If you are then cutting back the extrude temp will help since it takes it less time to cool down.

Extra cooling time helps, but also try increasing top fill layers. I find a 1 to 1.5mm layer is usually good. The smaller the layer height the more top fill layer heights you need.
