Unresolved layers of the print shift

    it seems the first layers of the print doesnt stay on course gving me some shifted layers. anybody know what could be the problem?

    Loose belt or loose set screw on the drive cog (this is on the stepper motor shaft where the belt comes around).

    Well, I don't know which way it as mounted while printing.
    The X axis the belt across the top of the bed. The Y axis is the belt below the bed plate and the Z is the two leadscrews that make it go up.

    Check the belt tension and the drive cogs for the belts. Sometimes they didn't use loctite and the set screws got loose after a while.
    If the belt is loose you need to tighten it. If the set screws are loose you need to tighten them.

    is there a way to feel if the tension on the belt is correct?

    The belt should twang and not.thud when you strum it

    And sadly, without t tension or strain gauge that really is the best description :)

    It is harder to test the drive sprockets/cogs, but just make sure the set screws in them are tight.
