I assume I need new firmware, or values for the z axis... I cannot seem to find any info pointing to what I need to download. Please let me know.... wes

so as you can see, using the default values, the z axis is moving up too high using the value of 800... the part should be 146mm high, and the circle should be perfectly round. I have printed this part twice, same result[IMG]

Looks like a loose belt or drive cog there as well.
See how uneven the curve is? Even if the Z steps were off they would be consistent.

Not that this is affecting the Z axis (that is X or Y)

I think it looks off, but small calibration cubes print fine 10x10x40mm but this part is supposed to be 146mm high its actually closer to 162mm high , so the layers were not sticking together....

Just for grins, do you have EEPROM writing enabled?
Issue the following commands in a terminal window connected to your printer.
    Code:
    M502
    M500
The first command (M502) will reload memory (RAM) settings with those directly from the firmware, the second (M500) will store those newly written commands to permanent storage (EEPROM).

OK, tried that, then did G0 Z146 (the height the part should have been) and it appears to be in the right position now... will try printing again.

If this worked, there was something messed up with the EEPROM settings. It is unfortunate that this is not well documented, but EEPROM settings take precedence over whatever you put in the firmware. The storage does not get cleared or overwritten when flashing new versions of the firmware. The result is that you pull your hair out in frustration because every change you make in firmware seems to be ignored and you can't figure out why.

I see you stopped your question halfway through and read my second response. EEPROM does not get reset when flashing new firmware. Only resets when you explicitly execute the M502 command.

The original Robo firmware did not have EEPROM writing enabled. Likely why that information is not there.
