I have an intermittent problem with a loud (and I do mean loud) noise on startup of the printer. I know it is a fan as I have heard fans 'go out' on other things... It sounds like the blade rubbing against its frame - but I'm not sure... The sound appears to be coming from the lower left of the printer but I haven't been able to pinpoint it. Can anyone help or give suggestions?

    Thanks!

There's several fans on the printer. Try and verify which one it is. It's very possible a fan is going bad and would need replacing.

It may be the fan on the RAMPS board (which is under the bottom of the printer).
Flip it over and remove the bottom to make sure the fan is still correctly positioned.

Thanks - it is the fan in the back lower felt of the printer - not that it was really needed, but of all things I used a paper towel tube to isolate the location. I took off the bottom plastic part of the printer and saw the only thing there was the RAMPS board casing - so I would agree it is the RAMPS board fan. What is the best way to get a replacement (start a ticket, etc)?

Unrelated, but while I was searching around the printer I found that the heat pad for the bed is sagging down (I can send a pic) to the point that it is rubbing parts in the base as the bed moves around. It is not causing a problem now but should I address it before it does?

    Thanks.

Yes, if the heater is dragging that is a problem. Not sure how they would best like to address that.
You can schedule a tech call to discuss this since it is warranty work ( I assume)

Or would it be the one under these vents for the PSU?

The heater itself is likely not dragging. He probably means the cork insulation. It's not ideal but also not the end of the world.

It sounds as though it is from the diagonal corner. I did not see a fan but assumed there was one cooling the board...

It's probably the power supply fan judging from your description. Start a replacement part request
