New to 3d printing old to fixing broken stuff.

I should have known better but messing around with the slic3r settings I got things all messed up, 20 mm skirts, big ole rafts just all kinds of stupid stuff and I need to start over but I have know idea what the default settings were, heck I'm not even sure what I changed :)

Any way I can get the original settings back from when I first installed mattercontrol 1.1?

This thing printed way way way better when I just pulled it out of the box before I started to play with it.

    Thanks
    Dave

    Uninstall MC
Look in a location like this (assuming Windows 8-ish, you didn't say):

    C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\MatterControl

(YourUserName is the name of who you logged on as)

    Delete that directory.

    Clear %TEMP% also.

    Reinstall MC.

Well that is slightly better than:
    1) Take PC to parking lot
    2) apply 1 oz of C4 (stand well back)
    3) Buy new PC
    4) install matter control
    5) reconnect printer

    Good luck :)

LOL yah I guess it could be worse. I had the thing less than a month and I already had the hot end off it cleaning it out over some really oval ABS I got my hands on. micked out at 2.00 mm. Needless to say I was pulling that crap out with pliers and cleaning out the nozzle. I guess 2 mm will not fit down a 1.75 mm hole no matter how hard you try to push it through with pliers :)

Can you always unscrew the 2 bolts that hold the bearing for the hubbled bolt. Then put the filament in and press down gently while the hot end is heated enough for the filament. If it's to big it won't extrude. If it extrudes then you should be fine. Easy way to check next time. If you really have to force it don't use it.

I learn things the hard way I guess, but, I now know how it all works. I ended up sending the roll back to the supplier and he sent me out a new roll that worked like a charm after I uploaded the new code that allowed me to run the bed at 110.

If you have a model with a clip on the bed then it is dangerous to run it above 85C. Remove the clip if you do.

If you have a ribbon cable you're fine.
