Hi Mike. I seem to be having the same trouble as Koji. I'm able to enable the solenoid with M42 P63 S255. But it wont do a thing while homing z. I tried with both of the firmware that you pre modified, but no luck.

If you enable the solenoid before sending a g28 will it home?

No, it starts for a half second then disables the solenoid and stops.

ok lemme check the firmwares for any discrepencies. Just to be certain this is with the DC-DC power converter with a mosfet, and not pulling power directly from the ramps?

    @Koji Nakano and @Jake

I believe these firmwares should work fine. Test them out and let me know. Sorry about the issue!

alright, that almost worked, but your firmware settings have const bool Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_INVERTING = false. I set it to true and it works great! thank you so much! this is an awesome mod.

:) Glad it worked I've been loving it.

After reviewing I think the firmware is fine as is. I'll make a note to wire the switch on the NO leg instead of NC. This way in the event of solenoid failure it won't home into the bed and throw the nuts. Would just raise the axis a few mm instead.

The solenoid moved with no problem.

    Thank you very much!

But the height is about 6 mm by a print of Cube. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17003

It's no problem by 10mm movement by a manual.

Hmm a 40% difference is significant. Lubricate the threaded rods if you haven't and make sure the ramps board is getting adequate cooling. Post a new thread on it if that doesn't resolve it with pictures.

    I could normally print now.
    Thank you very much.

    The following thing was performed.
    Hot end 175→180c

    M565 Z1.0→0.7

I'm wondering if anybody can help me again, I changed the type of extruder i was using, I had to change the steps for my extruder. but after re uploading the firmware when I try to home z nothing happens, and I get back:

    echo:Z probe out. bed
    Z probe out. bed

    Any suggestions?

I can try to upload it after work, but I used a fresh version of the firmware you provided, and I only modified settings in configuration.h that I modified successfully before.

At one point, before having everything put back together, I moved the extruder assembly fast enough that it lit up my led's, I'm wondering if that might have overloaded something, all axis move though. I've tried checking everything in the circuit, and all seems fine. Do you think it could be damage to the ramps board? Is there any way to test? Or change the pins being used?

    Update: here's the firmware.

Are you uploading the marlin.ino file? because you should be uploading the Robo3dR1V2_Solenoid_M8.ino file
