    Hi all.

My extruder stepper runs on and off with no rule. Sometimes on the left area, others on the right. It works on the second layer where it didn't work on the first one and so on. I move the cables when it's running and it doesn't stop so I think cables are ok.

Anyway, where is it connected (pins) on the board?

The cooling fan doesn't work either, and I've marked the "always run" on repetier.

    Thank you. Manolo.

    Hi again.

    I've made some tests:

    1) the stepper motor for the extruder is OK, because I connect this motor on the X socket on the board and it works perfectly.

    2) I've connected the X stepper motor on the E0 socket on the board and it doesn't work, so the problem is on the board.

    3) I've reloaded firmware and the problem continues.

    4) I've swapped the red marked circuits on X-E0 and again, the E0 doesn't work and the X is working fine.

Anyone could tell me what could be wrong on the board?

    Thank you. Manolo.

Ok, I found that firmware limits the operation of extruder motor if extruder temperature is below 170ºC.

Usually stepper driver cutting in and out is a sign of them being over amped and thus over heating.

How good are you with a multimeter? Did your printer tool kit come with a small plastic screw driver?

Yes, that would be a cold extrude and could damage things.

    Thank you.

I see that with the extruder at 160, when i move the extruder by hand, PLA flows ver y good, thats why I want to print at 160-165 c...

Then modify the firmware however you want :)

    Open source after all...
