    Hey guys,
My y axis on the Robo R1 is acting horribly. I've tried reducing the acceleration speed but that didn't help. The picture that I attached is supposed to be a calibration cube. Do you guys know any reasons why this may be happening

So along the bed travel ... that axis?

Have you check ed the belt to make sure it is tight enough?

Thanks for your reply. How tight should the belt be? I checked it but I dont really know how tight it should be.

It should make a low thrum noise if you pluck it like a guitar string.
    A thrum, not a thud :)

It made the sound you described. Could it be anything else?

Sure, loose drive gear on the motor shaft -- the one that makes the belt move. Sometimes the set screws get loose (or fall out)

If it continues with no obvious mechanical issue then it could be the electrical side (bad stepper motor or bad stepper driver or bad RAMPS)

If its a R1+ check the little plastic holder that keeps the bed wires tucked away. Sometimes (all the freaking time!) it comes loose and falls down and hits the middle plate stopping movement. The bed wiring itself has been known to wreak havok. I'd do like @mark tomlinson suggested and tighten the set screws then witht he glass bed lifted off the magnets move the Y back and forth and see if anything is hitting. If not set the bed back downa nd move it back and forth. if you feel restriction something is physically stopping movement

Thanks for the reply but I think it's the original R1 I've just taken the bed off. If i can pull out the shaft, does it mean there is a problem there?

yea that is likely not a good thing. It shouldn't fall out like that. I'd start with replacing the stepper as it may have died :(

Look on amazon if you need one, NEMA 17, at least 32 oz-in of torque and check the physical size to be close. There are a lot of options most cheap (i.e. less than $20 and some a good bit less)
