    do you have a link for the R1 plus board it is listed as sold out messaged robo3d and have not heard anything back from them buying on Amazon is fine just not sure which one to purchase for the r1 plus and i want my bed heater operational again

    i would prefer just to get the board through robo3d but it is listed as sold out on website so i may have to go this way if they dont get more in

    @aznhlfan yours is an r1 without the custom board or did you do the conversion for the r1+?

    It is an R1+, I used the arduino and my ramps just plugged right in. I have the xxl controller on it also so didn't need the controller, but always good to have a spare. And for $35 I just decided to get the whole kit.

    Oh thats right ! His problem is on his ramps board, it will plug in if he buys that one but the wiring needs redone to hook up. I did a thread on the conversion its not terrible but takes a good hour or two.

    so is excessive heat really the issue then should we add a larger fan maybe?

    I printed the brackets from thing verse and added an 80mm fan to both my r1+'s

    A larger fan helps, I had one fail and switched to the generic ramps and haven't had another fail. If and when it does I'll do a larger fan.

    Can't hurt. Many people have.
    The issue with RAMPS overheating started before they added the bottom cover and I was never satisfied with the size of the fan they used.
