If someone could help me out I tryed printing in Matter Control and Simply3D. My parts come out almost like sqished. They are not the right size. The prints look ok it guess from matter control but simply 3d makes them look great! Still the same problem with both programs. I really think I got a bad egg here.

Huh, the page I linked to does not have instructions to "do it through Matter Control". Follow the instructions provided, then retest.

Still, follow the instructions on the page I linked. Please remember that Matter Control is not Robo specific and has to be many things to many printers. So sometimes things are more trouble than they are worth fixing. The page has instructions that are relatively easy to follow.

Follow the instructions on the web page that @WheresWaldo linked.
Do not do it through MatterControl (in fact you should just uninstall that, you already have Simplify3D...)

That is old firmware, there is a newer version. Please do yourself a favor and follow the Robo suggested method of upgrading the firmware. There really is no more to say about this issue. Then retest your print.

Yes, and show us a picture of a calibration cube or whatever you are using for your first print.

Sometimes bad/incorrect firmware gets in there.
There was a batch that came in with the incorrect settings for the threaded rods (so the Z size would be completely wrong).

I found that MatterControl isn't really my cup of tea. I now use both Slicer and Cura -- Cura mostly get a good visualization and to get the estimate of material used for the print. Slicer seems to behave a little bit better with the printer, but not significantly so. They both seem to work well when you upgrade to the firmware linked above.

I was gonna try cura but since I have simplify 3D and they have a pre-loaded profile for the r1 using that

If there is ONE thing that I could get people to do, which I can't, it's to use an dedicated laptop or workstation to deal with their printers and slicing software, and to use some flavor of linux on it. One thing that makes me do the Homer Simpson shriek is to see Windows 8 involved, in ANYTHING. lol :)

Hey @Island Bill, don't be so hard on poor ole Windows 8, besides it will be a free upgrade to Windows 10 starting July 29th. On the fast track preview and have not had a single issue on three PCs and a laptop.

@Nick C. , just keep using Simplify3D and uninstall Matter Control, forget you ever saw it. It is one piece of software that is worth less than the purchase price (at least in its current state).

Only if you are on 8.1 :) I already fixed all that, but it was a pain.
