Pclabtech's printer ressurected!

    After a minor shipping mishap being repaired, I was able to get some 3D prints done, my only problem was the OK hand (tried twice) kept tipping over when the printer reached printing the individual fingers on the top, it toppled and moved the print job over. It's now a disembodied hand hooked to the manual feed tray at work :)

    I also printed a Smiley face, and a spaceship with no wings, learning curve definitely getting the print jobs to stick to the painter's tape on the first layer. This is probably the adjustment I need to make so I can get 100m prints.

    Soon ViKi will be hooked up and then I can preheat the bed and extruder without the computer. Unknown about the SD card use yet.

    A fun hobby for all :)

    Now I just need to get to Home Depot, etc. and get some acetone.

    I hope you get things worked out. Unfortunate that you printer was not handled well by shipping company. Jeff and Harry seem to have received printers that need little to know setup. What was damaged on yours?

    No... I picked mine up JDM_ and the bed was not "secured" like the ones being shipped so the bed slid against the end stroke switch for the Y axis and dislodged it. It was an oversight that has been corrected and they wrapped my bed so I could get it safely home.

    Ok pclab when you give some the finger you don't actually give it to them cmon I can see making that mistake once but four times

    It's a TRAP!!! 100 microns, 5.5 hours to print. Some of the edges are a little rough and the very top of his head did not close the "infill" area.... I could make him into a salt shaker now ;)
