No problem. So the channel running up to the circle i supposed to be 2.2 mm and it is actually 1.7 mm. The path around the circle is supposed to be 1.8 mm, but it is 1.5 mm.

    Also what is ribbing?

    Pictures from the side?

Ribbing is a wavy pattern along the Z axis.

Hmm that looks nice. I'm thinking maybe it's over extrusion. Do you have any extrusion multiplier enabled?

Try a calibration cube, see how close to spec it is

What are the specs on the cube? I am using Cura, and I do not see a setting for extrusion multiplier.

a 15mm calibration cube on thingiverse is fine. Just something you can know the dimensions of.

    Try this:

I had a problem with things not printing the right height. It was a couple of bad STLs that sliced way stupid...and maybe a slicer glitch. ran the STLs through netfab and deleted slic3r's config file and it worked. Just a thought.

I printed a 20 mm calibration cube and the bottom (touching the heated print bed) of the cube is 20.13 mm and the top is 19.68 mm. That is a .45 mm difference!

I am printing PLA with the extruder at 210 c and the bed at 65 c.

What could be causing that kind of variation?

A touch of under-extrusion might do it

So I may need to increase the steps per mm on the extruder?

I did a filament length test (as best I could with what I had)

I told it to extrude 10 mm and it actually extruded closer to 11.13 mm

So that would be over extrusion. by 11.3% right? That seems like it would be an issue.

It would be a small issue, but not the symptoms you have :)
This would likely cause slightly fatter or thicker layers.

That is probably true and more likely the solution to the problem you are seeing.

I'm more concerned about the .13. That's not significant and could be measurement errors.

For the height it could have to do with the first layer settings. Unless you get a PERFECT layer it could easily be off by a little.

The first layer on my prints does seem to protrude out past the rest of the print. I see the first layer settings in Matter Control, but not in Cura. Does anyone use Cura, or just know where it could be, or is this something I could do with G Code?

What's your Z offset set to?

Advance > Quality > Initial Layer Thickness

0.0 mm So according to the info popup it would be the same as the other layers right?

    Correct.

    Increase your Z offset probably.

Right. More negative = further from bed.
