my robo 3dr1 + started having layer shifting problems on the X axis (or whatever one runs parallel with the movement of the bed) so I first tried tightening the belt with no luck then gave it the G28 command prompt to home all axises, and still no dice.

I had to add a fan in the bottom compartment where the ramps is to keep the drivers cool when mine started doing that.

Make sure the gear that moves the belt is firmly screwed onto the stepper motor shaft. That and the cooling for the ramps board are both important.
