So, I noticed on the Robo 3D Facebook page the news of the world's first full scale car being printed by a company down in the U.S.. This got me thinking as I watched this vehicle that reminded me of the old Meyers Manx kit car from the 60s travelling at a whopping 4 mph, when is a good time to debut your first prototype?

In a society that craves exponential technological advancement, should you wait until your product is "just right" or should you favour the fact of being the first as more important.

    Thoughts?

Time to market is more important than many people like to imagine.
I am with Larry Ellison on this one "ship what you got and patch it later"

Do you think this is common practise? Any examples of tech that was released with patch work needed.

Not sure if that's a burn or you're serious.... or both.

    Either way I agree.

I think in the tech world you would hard pressed to find an example that did NOT do this. Software for certain lives by this rule (and any hardware with embedded software).

Whenever I see Mopar I make up the acronym in my mind "MOst (expensive) Parts ARound"

even though that makes no sense
