A lot of my prints now have gap between the layer is there anyway to get the first layer looking smooth?

Do I have my printer head up to high or what?

That looks like the infill percentage is less than 100% is all.
If you want all layers as solid as possible set it up to 100%.

I normally run with it as low as 35-40%, just depends on what I am printing. Small parts I usually go 100% for (or parts that need to be stronger).

Looks like the print head might be too high. Otherwise increase the flowrate on the first layer
