What errors are shown in the GCode terminal?
Without something to go on we will only be guessing.

You will want to scroll the terminal back to the start to see the errors (they may not be all the way back at the start, but they will not be the last things in the terminal either). Look for the word "error"

I don't have a display screen on the 3d printer. I just have it plugged into a laptop and I am using the matterhorn program for printing. I believe that is what the program is called. It doesn't show any errors that I am aware of.

You have to find the errors in this screen -- scroll all the way back looking for the word 'error'
    Give us the entire error.

    http://wiki.mattercontrol.com/OPTIONS/G-Code_Terminal

This website has the documentation for the free program MatterControl which is what it sounds like you are using. That link explains how to get to the terminal where communication with the printer occurs and where errors will be displayed
