I agree, the wiring harness was a problem for me as well. There can be a bad wire or a bum connection buried in there.

You were right about the wiring harness. When I move them around certain angles then it works fine.
So is my wiring loose or is there another issue?

Sounds like a loose connection or a bad wire.

How can I fix this? I'm not very good at electric components. Please help

My approach was not fun. You can do it however you like.
I unwrapped the plastic sheath they had that was wrapped around the bundle from the RAMPS to the hotend.
Then traced and checked all of the wires and rewrapped it.

OK, it's not rocket science here:). One (or more) of those four wires coming off the stepper has a problem. To isolate the location of the problem you need to carefully move one section of the wiring harness at a time while the other sections stay still to find out where the problem starts or goes away. Is the problem near the stepper, in the middle of the wiring harness or near the connection to the RAMPS circuit board underneath the printer. OK?

A multi-meter will be a tremendous help. You can either check the continuity of the wires from end-to-end (powered off) or with the power on check the voltages at each end to find the bad wire(s). I would opt for the former approach personally.

So just found out it is the stepper motor. I am unable to check if its the wires or the motor itself.
    Is this replaceable?

You need to supply more information if you want help. How did you find it is the stepper motor? Did you find a correlation between the wire harness movement and the skipping sound? This is what I asked for. If this is the case then it is the wires like I said. The stepper motor itself is pretty robust and unlikely to be the problem. If is one of the wires then you need to fix it. I suggest that you ask a friend who can solder and knows how to use a multimeter to help.

This issue is resolved. The issue was with the stepper motor. It has been replaced, thanks
