Roller bearing Suspension wheel.jpg While I'm at it, here is another recent project that is a mashup of two different Thingiverse designs that I modified to make a 4" wheel for a push golf cart. The spring portion came from "scamline" and started life as a "2d spring generator". The roller gear is from "Robo" (probably not related, but who knows...). Using a hex axle, the wheel will roll normally but when a bump is hit, the outer diameter pushes toward the center and the impact is absorbed by the spring for a smooth ride. I will put a flexible filament tire on it at some point, but just thought I'd share it with you guys.

Nice print. Is it ABS or PLA or other?

@Peter; it is Polymax PLA - supposedly stronger than ABS with a similar level of flexibility. It will bend far more than regular PLA before it breaks, but not as much as nylon. It prints really nicely at regular PLA temps.

Can the stock Robo3d extruder handle Polymax PLA?

Yes. I'm printing the second wheel right now at 194.Using a Hexagon, but well within the stock ROBO range.

Here is a multi-material drawing of the same wheel that illustrates a flexible filament tire, PLA/PHA spring portion and nylon center bearing cap to protect an ABEC skate wheel bearing.
