Thermistor Adhesive Alternative?

Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but my thermistor has come lose and the tape isn't holding it anymore. I was wondering if I could use HVAC aluminium tape as a replacement? It has a max thermal limit of 168 celcius, I'm just worried it will short out the bed. Does anyone know if the layer covering the heating element is conductive? I have the tape on hand, and if possible, I'd like to get my printer up and running asap. If not, are there any other non-permanent alternatives using everyday home improvement items? Would caulk or furnace cement work?

 

People use furnace cement or high temp silicone like this: http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-8187...=8-6&keywords=ultra+high+temperature+silicone you can find it at most auto stores.

 

HVAC tape will probably not hold at normal printing temps and may cause damage to the hotend.
You should invest in a roll of Kapton Tape.

 

Another vote for Permatex Ultra Copper.

 

I just twisted some thick copper electrical wire around the cool part of the head. No issues so far.....
