I have lately been experimenting with honeycomb infill. It lays down very nicely, however I am experiencing problems with 'pillowing' on the top surface. I have printed at 25% 30% 35% and 50% and this still occurs. I have the top layers set to 5. The following picture is at 25% infill:

Maybe try turning down the temperature on your extruder and see if it makes a difference? Other than the pillowing, it looks pretty good, so maybe the plastic is too hot and doesn't harden as quickly as it should. I assume your cooling fan is running full speed?

How many top/bottom layers do you have there? Almost looks like you might not have quite enough.

I am using 5 top and bottom layers. The roughness on the top surface is strange because it is bumps and not dips. Why would it be bumping rather than dipping?

I was scrolling through the visual troubleshooting guide earlier (great resource!) and i noticed it said about the top fill pattern. Do you think switching the top/bottom fill pattern from rectilinear to say concentric would make a difference? I'll probably try that out soon.

Yeah it might. Sounds like they claim it's from filament breaking over infil overhangs or something.
