and there may be post processing needed to get the look you want. little in this world comes out of initial processing finished.

I will just sand it a little to get it a little more smooth on the face. Here is a picture of a part that just got finished printing. Looks like it missed a few layers. Is that do to a setting or an issue with the model itself? Other than that this part turned out great.

It looks to me like it is not missing layers, but rather splitting/separating.
That is a tendency of ABS without a heated chamber.

You are going to need to experiment to find the settings that work the best.

Can always go at that crack with a soldering iron and a strip of filament to weld it shut.

I might just put a little abs glue slurry to fill the cracks then sand it. I have an abs slurry in all of the abs colors that I print in to glue parts together. So that might be one solution. I have a soldering iron but don't feel like using it to melt the part. Also forgot to mention that when I got home from work yesterday my Robo decided to have a spaghetti party. Lol. Balls of spaghetti everywhere. It was so bad that it knocked 3 parts off of the bed that were stuck pretty good. No clue what happened. Just cleaned it up and started the parts over. The next run when good as you can see in the last pictures I posted.

or your abs slurry will melt it .. meeellllllt iiiiitttt
soldering irons don't work well.. you need an additive way to adhere. you can do it.. but its pretty messy and doesn't adhere great. I was playing with making an extrusion pen.. but it failed. there are ABS pens out there.. but like 60 bucks.
I also use a dremel tool and some filament in the chuck to melt parts together... takes some practice but works well on abs and pla.

the spaghetti party is usually a result of the parts being knocked over.. which can be a result of it warping. Or missing because of wrong stepping.

No, you can weld the ABS with slurry or just careful use of acetone. ABS is easier to work with that way. Also CyanoAcrylate works wonderful with it, where for PLA model airplane cement is better.

Yeah I used an ABS slurry to weld together a minion pen holder. Had some pretty big gaps to fill too. Filled and bonded with no issues. Sanded the seams after it dried. It now looks like it was printed all in one piece.

I like Weldon4 for repairing ABS prints. Applies cleaner than slurry and creates a super strong bond

Does that stuff dry clear? That would be amazing if it does.

Yes it does. Creates a shiny finish:

Inner gearing is strengthened using Weldon4. Outer handle is left normal.

Also works for PLA and probably more materials i haven't tested

Just tried searching stores in my area and I cannot find any to purchase. Don't feel like ordering any. Any alternatives?

Find an acrylic shop or order from amazon. No there's no alternative.

I might order some from amazon and continue to use my slurry until then. I have amazon prime so it would only take 2 days to ship.
