My first layer of prints work great, but the higher the extruder gets, the worse the quality of the prints gets. It seems the layers are not sticking to each other. IMG_3171[1].JPG

That to me looks like some serious underextrusion.

    Is your hotend fan running?

The firmware version I am using is ROBO3DR1V2. Also I have tried it with my fan on and off, same results. If I turn it on it is on for the whole build, and if it is off, it is off for the entire build.

Look at the three loops around the model. There is a big gap between each loop. Under extrusion that bad would have to be caused by any combination of

    - Wrong filament diameter
    - Wrong filament flow rate in the slicer or at print time (ie not 100%)
    - Wrong nozzle diameter parameter (ie not 0.4mm)
    - Slipping hobbed bolt, spring tension too low, extruder back pressure too high
    - Wrong extruder steps/mm in the firmware (should be 723.38)

That's not the fan I'm referring to:

Ok I tried again with a new roll of filament. It still didn't work. My quality is at 100. How do I change my filament flow rate? In the slice settings (matterControl1.2) the diameter is 1.75mm Extrusion Multiplier 1, and speed is 30mm/s. I haven't change any setting. What is nozzle diameter? The extruder? How do I change this? I'm not trying to do any hardware changes yet. I didn't change anything its fresh out of the box. I'm not sure what extruder back pressure too high means? I have changed filament a few times so the hobbed bolts have been adjusted as well. I have had to insert filament because the filament stops coming out of the extruder often, so I have adjusted these bolts plenty of times. I can't say its at the right setting but still never a good print. I did print one good comb. As for firmware Version it says ROBO3DR1V2 (update to date) I click on change but I don't have that file should I try and download it from somewhere?

Yes my "hot end fan" is running. Its on the side and not in the front.

    Try a medium quality print.
