OK. Adjusted the threaded rods and printed again. It looks soooooo much better. Looks a little thin in a few places. My offset might be a tad low I think. What do you guys think?

your x axis is what carries the carriage. A small amount of unevenness can be dramatic. I level mine by homing the head (so its laying against the bed) then I hold one rod (it will try to spin) and twist the rod on one side till you hear the click (its quiet). Home in on the switch click and adjust it so you support the carriage then lower till it clicks open. Then do the same to the other. Now it is level to itself, and that should be good enough.

much better. still looks like your z offset AND extrusion aren't adjusted properly. but you can likely do LOW RES prints with not much issue.
mess with it.. figure it out.. then move on to fine tuning. No need to get bogged down unless you're so out that it fails. (drags and clogs head etc)

If you have matter control going.. print the test box. its a quick print with low infill and .3 layers.

It seems to be widely used. Once I get my robo printing good I might buy simplfy3d. People seam to have the best of luck with supports and stuff with it. Can't drop $140 on it though until I get my settings fixed.

yea.. it looks pretty. Is there a new much more usable version? I didn't really hear anything of it till it started getting pushed a couple weeks ago by pontiffs on this board.

still looking for a single piece of software that lets me slice, split, ungroup, support. so far, I use 3 programs to cut a model in half for printing.

It could be done with 2 if I used an STL editor. I haven't messed with any STL editors.

no CURA. S3D is the first one ya find when ya search. it's not $150 better than repetier. The manually defined supports are cool though.

Yeah if you slice and stuff in Cura that would be amazing. Netfabb is pretty easy to do though. Plus I run all stl files through it for a repair just in case.

Oh you can't slice in cura? or you mean cut? I just downloaded free netfab yesterday.. have to check it out. I use the online fixer all the time though.
Its amazing how many models are broken on the web.

Here is the test cube. It kinda tapers on the corners

    yea.. bloopy. but it printed.

Starts out nice. I THINK.. and I haven't experienced a print that was "that bad" with the rounding of the corners. But you may have a loose belt? I'll let someone else chime in (though your title is likely to make people ignore the thread). Might just be massively over-extruded. I know I got little "hooks" like that on the top of my boxes before I did an E step calibration.

probably a bunch too much extrusion? what happens if you drop it down 10-20%
