    Just received new printer...printed test cube...after printing and going onto another project the print head will not home correctly and mashes to the right of the machine repeatedly acting as if it is trying to locate off the print area. How do I fix this issue?

    You need to find the X axis home switch (it is on the side of the carriage). Make sure wires or nothing else is getting in the way of the extruder triggering it (there is a screw that sticks out to trigger it) and make sure the wires are attach to the switch as well.

    Some more information over here: http://guide.robo3d.com/Guide/Homing+Your+Extruder/7

    This fixed the homing issue but still having the issue of the extruder mashing to the right side of the machine and locking up when it is plotting the surface area. Thank you for your assistance :)

    During the auto leveling probes (it probes 9 points) or during printing?

    btw: right and left are relative :)

    A video or a picture would help and more details about when it occurs.

    Thanks

    sounds like the build size is defined incorrectly for it to hit the other side of the x axis after homing.

    Here is what I have for build size
    X = 228
    Y = 254
    Z = 228

    Is there a correct bed size and print center?

    Did you get this printer new or used? Just wondering if someone changed the firmware and the probing grid points.

    The probe points are firmware defined, the overall bed limits are controlled by the slicer software.
    Remember only HOME is a known position on any axis as everything else is math :)

    The build size is advertised at 10" deep, 9" wide, and 8" tall. The square on the bed is not accurate if you are worried about the center of the build area.

    Ignore any markings on the print bed. They are not functional.

    So your X axis is not moving at all.
    That is a problem.
    You should call support since you just unboxed that thing!

    That's crazy pants. You say it did home? So it does move all the way left to home and goes full right and hangs there? If just starting left, is the gear on the x motor loose? It's like the belt isn't even moving.

    That is my next step...since I'm a newbie to 3d printing figured it may be operator error

    Oh no, that is something electrically or mechanically wrong. Get them to sort that out.

    It worked fine doing the calibration cube...after that when starting project it starts the 9 point probe and hangs up like you see in the video.
