Having a severe noise problem coming from the front x axis rod. When the carriage has to make a long runs back and forth the rod makes a terrible loud, eardrum breaking noise that will literally drive you out of the room and can be heard all over the house. The minute I put my finger on the rod and apply a little pressure (it doesn't take much) the sound goes completely away. Now this problem does not have any effect on the printer or the prints it all works well. So...is there some kind of mod that I can put either on this rod or across both front and rear rods. Any help will be a great help!!
    Thanks!

You could try putting some light machine oil/3-1 oil on the smooth rod and see if that helps. Otherwise I'd contact robo support

    hi guys,
I don't have noise problems, but when I clean the x rods I found two long scratches on the rods. Is that normal? My printer its 8 months old.
Should I have this kind of problems now?
    I IMG_6357.JPG IMG_6358.JPG IMG_6359.JPG IMG_6360.JPG appreciate any recomendation

    Bad bearings.
You need to replace the LM8UU bearings on those rods.

You can either replace them or try to buff them back smooth. Given the choice I would replace them.
It is a catch-22... bad bearings wear the rods, worn rods will eventually cause bad bearings.

    thanks Mark,
I receive the rods and the LM8UU yesterday, I did install them but it seems that the rods are smaller in diam. since the carriage have a little play now and I didn't see it before.

Did you get the rods and bearing from ROBO or did you source them somewhere else?

Do you have calipers? If so, take some measurements of the rod thickness. And did the bearings fit loose into the carriage when you changed them out?

I didn't take the measurements yet. But you have a good point, the two bearing on the front of the carriage they fit very easy, I just install them pushing with my fingers.

Took some measurements: old rods 8.19 mm, new rods 7.93 mm. Also i didn't mention that the rods on the black brackets on each side were too loose, I install them with some teflon tape.
