I had a problem with my extruders thermister wires were getting worn. Also the thermister was coming loose from the extruder head I noticed that sometime when homing, my wires were getting crimped by hitting the z threaded axis rod. The end stop screw was too shallow. When it homed, it would sometime knock loose the thermister or even slightly pulled it out of the extruder head. The print would start but nothing moved. I could HOME but not lift the head or move it sideways.

After noticing the loose thermister, after putting it back in, then I restarted the printer, and reconnected. It then worked OK.

What does your printer show up as in the device manager?

    That looks correct.
Looking at your first post, I am not real familiar with MatterControl, but I am not sure those buttons in area 2 of your picture are supposed to be active/clickable.

Someone more familiar with MatterControl can probably answer that. Can you load a model and start a print that way?

I noticed that the temperatures are both reading 0C so I assumed it was a driver issue, but Arduino Mega 2560 is the correct driver...

Tell it to update the firmware and see what happens
